[Nawalgarh] [Shekhawati Guest House, Nawalgarh]

One of the most beautiful and best run hotels we stayed in Rajasthan was Hotel Diggi Palace in Jaipur! It is a heritage hotel, a 200yr old Haveli renovated to give you a very comfortable stay. Rooms are of different types and are usually booked 2 -3 months in advance, so book early.

The best part about the hotel is its central location with the walled city within an easy 10 minute walk or if you are in a hurry, a 5 minute cycle rikshaw drive for INR 20/-.

Also enjoyable is its large garden, in which one can see peacocks and other various birds walking around. The hotel is called "Diggi Palace" because the owners are royals from a village called "Diggi", 60kms from Jaipur. The owners are very hospitable and pleasant to talk to. This is probably the main reason why the hotel boasts of a very high percentage of repeat, regular visitors. The staff is equally helpful and smiling! The manager of the resort is Mr. Wilson, a very philosphical, efficient and helpful person.
